Samantha Fox blasted on to the stage of the “Medley” in Montreal last night singing “I Wanna Have Some Fun” and boy did we all. She had an all female band and 4 very cool dancers. Sam was in top form rockin’ the whole stage and flirting with both her female and male dancers. She sported a tight and sexy leather clad outfit which very early on became a halter top and short shorts. You should see her legs wow Sam you must really work out.
I’m always the one to complain that I’m too far away but can one be too close? The Medley is a very small venue. The person in front of me had their arms on the stage yes that close, no barriers. At some point I had her thrusting her hips in my face and when she did “Touch Me” everybody reached out to “touch” her me included but I quickly pulled my hand back out of fear of touching her breasts by accident. Yes I did get to touch her twice….her hands. During “I Only Want to Be with You” she sings the line….“You stopped and smiled at me, and asked if I’d care to dance” I reached out and she grabbed my hand and we swayed back and forth, I guess you can say I danced with Sam.
The best part (my friends will get a laugh out of this). During the song “True Devotion” to which I know all the lyrics. Sam put the microphone to my face, I was so startled that I completely blanked out and forgot the lyrics, all I could think about is "don’t sing... you’ve been told how bad you sing". You should have seen the look on Sam’s face when I backed down and motioned no. She tried the same thing with a girl to my left and she had the same reaction. Sam’s face said it all “What? you don’t want to sing?”. I met the girl later and she admitted that she didn’t know that verse of the song. There was this Asian guy next to me with 2 friends. He also got the microphone but during “Naughty Girls” and he went for it. He was so cute but he was off key and both he and Sam cringed, he was so embarrassed afterwards. I told him that’s why I didn’t sing lol. I got to hang out with him and his friends later while waiting for Sam after the show. Sam sang a lot of old songs like “True Devotion”, “I Surrender” “Love House” and “Nothing Gonna Stop Me Now” which sounded strange rocked up and devoid of the SAW sound. The show showcased her new album “Angel with and Attitude” she did great tracks like "Destined To Be' and "Te Be Heard" . Some of the song choices like “Cause & Effect” and “Confessions” (the first song she ever wrote) were surprising while she omitted my favourite track from the new album “The Power”. I wished she would have done some stuff from her "21st Century Fox” album. She closed the show with “I Only Wanna be With You” which rocked the house. She came back on and encored with “Do Ya Do Ya (wanna please me) and finally “Touch Me”. She started the song in a sultry jazzy way which I thought was cool and then rocked it to the originally version. The crowd went wild. Unfortunately like many small venues there was sound problems, during one song Sam kept motioning to the sound guy to fix it. Sam's new single "Angel With An Attitude" has hit Montreal radio you can request the song on the radio page here. The single will be released in record stores at the end of August. The new album recorded here in Canada with producer Joe Barrucco (barrucco.com) is now finished and being remixed, it should be released in September . Sam has confirmed some of the song titles on her website," To Be Heard"," I Give Myself To You", "You and Me", "Breathe Through It All", and "Cause and Effect" . Sam will be touring Canada this autumn a 30 date tour.

The DVD "All Around The World" is finally released in Canada with an extra bonus. A videoclip montage of her Montreal Pride perfance from last year. If you look very close in the crowd scene you can see your webmaster (yes I'm in it for a brief second) wearing my Black basball cap holding up the CD cover of Sam's Greatest Hits. Sam has recorded 2 other songs recently. She recorded a track on Tom Stephan (Superchumba) album called "Sugar" . Her vocals to "Naughty Girls were re-recorded for a new remix Naughty Girls 2005 - Solar City Radio Mix for producer Scott Anderson. Samantha Fox was the closing act at the Grand Disco Ball August 1st at Divers/Cite, Montreal 's Pride Festival. Introduced by Montreal personality Sonia Benezra, Sam blasted on the stage to a packed crowd just before 10 PM (with me and my niece in the middle of it). The music started and you could hear “I'm begging for you…” but it was just a tease as she went into I Wanna Have Some Fun backed by her incredible dancers. She was wearing a beautiful short skirt white dress and looked like time hadn't moved since 1986. She went through a great collection of 8 songs and her voice sounded better then ever. She followed up to my delight with I Only Wanna Be With You, which got the crowd singing and jumping. She then explained that she had a new album coming out in September and sang a new song (I don't think she announced the title). She continued with I Surrender (To the Spirit of the Night), all the girls and boys around me were singing every word. I was hoping she would do Love House and I got my wish. For the song Sam was backed by Montreal dancer/performer Jean-Marc St-Yves and his incredible dance troupe (how lucky can you get). She then introduced us to her beautiful new single Angel with an Attitude, and blasted into Naughty Girls. She came back for the obvious encore Touch Me. I was hoping to hear a few songs from her Watching You Watching Me CD but I can't complain it was a rockin' show and I had a great time.

After the show some of the fans hanged around to try and get a glimpse of Sam. At one point she peaked through the backstage fence to sign a few autograph and chat. I asked her a few question about the new album. She said she still had to complete about 3 tracks with a Canadian producer, and that she was still considering recording one of her favorite songs Let It Go, the 80's hit by Canadian superstar Luba. She said that they might do a remix of the song or perhaps a duet with Luba. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Note: I am writing this a few days later and I might have gotten the song order wrong. I took a few pictures which I will try to post next week.

Sam will be doing a free outdoor concert at Divers/Cité (Montreal's Pride festival). The concert will be at the Émelie-Gamelin stage on Sunday August the 1st at 13:30. The interview that Sam did with Sonia Benezra will air in Canada on Monday May 3rd at 10 pm on MusiMax .

Samantha Fox arrived in Montreal on Friday March 12th. She was schedule to do interviews for Sonia Benezra (to be aired in April), Entertainment Spotlight and appear on Star Academie (the French version of Idols) on Sunday the 14th.

Her appearance on Star Academie was only a few minutes at the beginning. It's strange how the show works. Samantha along with the dozens contestants sang a medley of 5 of her hits
(I Surrender, I Wanna Have Some, I only Wanna Be With You, Naughty Girls and Touch Me). She cracked me up when she said "Touche Moi" at the end of the song. It too bad she didn't sing alone because her voice sounded great and she look amazing wearing a black short skirt and leather-type jacket. Samantha flirted with the guys including kissing the one she was dueting with on I Only Want To Be With You, she even asked him later if his house was far away.

They then interviewed her in english and had the contestants translate it in french. She was so cute when she said I speak french "Un petit peu" A little bit. She said that she was working on a new album to be released in November and a new single called “Angel With An Attitude” in May. She said she was working on a book to celebrate her 21 years in show business, but most shocking was that she said she will be touring Quebec this summer.

She only came back on stage at the end of the show for the credits. The contestants leave on a tour bus and Samantha got on the bus to kiss them all goodbye wish them luck and then she kept blowing kisses to the camera.

In the UK Sam will be performing on Saturday 20 March at Nightingale Club in Birmingham. She will be performing 4 of her hits.
