Phil Fogel

Call me an artist, illustrator or photographer, I have a keen eye for detail, a passion for my work and a sense of wonder and colour.  Growing up in Montreal Quebec I’m a graduate of Vanier College’s Creative Arts program and I have a degree in Illustration & Design from Dawson College. Now living in beautiful Victoria BC I like to capture the beauty, nature and landscape of the island. Photography is my big passion but as a trained illustrator I use my skills and techniques in painting and drawing and apply them to my photos. Every picture should have passion and tell a story, every stroke or camera angle has a purpose. Lighting, camera techniques and chiaroscuro is my mantra to create vibrant beautiful pictures.

I love doing your typical portraits but if you are looking for something more out of the ordinary, I’m your man, dramatic lighting, exotic locales, maybe an action shot of you winning the marathon or a swimming race, how about a sepia toned 1950’s pulp fiction shot, or an album cover shoot for your band? My goal is to make everybody look their best. Every photo session should be fun whether it’s an actor`s head shot, a corporate shoot or a family portrait, taking pictures should not be a chore. I'm also a graphic designer and can create logos, text, posters, business cards and specialized photo books just for you check out my services page.
